The drive by car from Desaguardero at the Peruvian border to the Bolivian capital La Paz is less than 100 km.
But this trip features spectacular views over the Altiplano with the snow covered mountains of the Cordillera Real.

At the first part of the trip Lake Titicaca lurks constantly in the distance.

The area is sparcely populated, but it does provide a glimpse of how people on this 4000 meters high plain try to cope with the harsh daily life.

Arriving at La Paz there are spectacular views from above over the town.
