Rosslyn Chapel
Rosslyn Chapel became famous after Dan Brown published his Da Vinci Code. In this book and the subsequent film the chapel is linked to Freemasonry, the Knights Templar and even the Holy Grail.

William Sinclair, first earl of Caithness founded the chapel in the mid 15th century as a collegiate church.
Over the ages the place turned into a ruin.

After  a visit of Queen Victoria in 1842 restoration was started and from 1864 onwards regular Sunday services were held again.

The interior shows elaborately carved masonry, most famous is the Apprentice Pillar. Unfortunately photography is not allowed inside, but you can buy pictures in the visitor center......

We visited Rosslyn Chapel in May 2015.
