A nice way to get the grand picture of Quebec City and its surroundings is by taking a cruise over the St Lawrence
River.
The upper deck has ample chairs and tables so you can relax and immediately after
departure enjoy the scenic views of Château Frontenac and the towering walls of the old Citadel.
The cruise continues down
river towards Île-d'Orléans and the suspension
bridge that since 1935 connects the island with the mainland.
Just
behind the bridge are the stunning
Montmorency Falls where the water drops 83 meters from a cliff edge.
To put that
into perspective, the drop of the world famous Niagara
Horseshoe Falls is "only" 57 meters.
In the weekend many boats and
yachts dot the waters of the St Lawrence River.
