Monaco
Monaco is a tiny city-state on the French Riviera, encompassing a land area of just over 2 km2.
The name comes from a 6th century BC Greek colony. But the natural harbour was known and used well before that time. Legend has it that Hercules made a short stop here to weed out the local gods.
Since 1419 the Grimaldis rule Monaco and since 1911 as head of a constitutional monarchy.

Thanks to the revenues from the Monte Carlo Casino the Monagasques do not pay income tax, a detail that attracts the rich from all over the world.
Consequently Monaco features the world's highest GNP per capita and is home to the highest number of millionaires and billionaires per capita.

Once a year the streets of Monaco is ransformed into a F1 race-track and Port Hercule is filled with the most luxerious yachts.

We visited this playground for the rich and famous in October 2014.
