cruising along the Kremlin Wall
a cruise on the Moskva River
Moscow was build along the banks of the Moskva River, so taking a river cruise is a nice and relaxed  method to see some of the main buildings and constructions of the city.

Several companies offer boat rides on the Moskva, from short trips on old, run down vessels, to expensive dinner cruises where the emphasis is more on the food than on the sights.
Most tours either start at Gorky Park or from the pier at Hotel Ukraina, located opposite the touristy Arbat  Street.

The larger boats sail all year, in winter they will have to negotiate the ice, if necessary assisted by an icebreaker. Bundle up!

In August 2019 we boarded the Erwin Peka of the luxurious Radisson Flotilla at the pier near Hotel Ukrania for a cruise to the Bolshoy Ustyinskiy  Bridge and back.

The tour passes the Novodevitski Convent, the Olympic Complex, Gorky Park, the statue of Peter the Great, the Cathedral of Christ the Savoir, the  Kremlin and the Red Square.
And do not forget to look up when you sail below the Zaryadye Viewing Bridge.
